Climate change: 'We risk seeing progress reversed'

The Guardian reports on the challenges ahead in implementing measures to adapt to climate change: "strengthened flood prevention measures, early warning systems and sound building codes. It means planting mangrove trees on exposed coastlines, or drought-resistant crops in dry areas. It means educating children and communities about disaster preparedness and risk reduction. It means integrating scientific and indigenous knowledge into decision-making" as stated by Sha Zukang, UN under-secretary general for economic and social affairs.
