The University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) conducted the “E-HANDA Webinar: Helping MSMEs Build Forward Better” on 13 October 2021. The theme Build Forward Better captures the UP ISSI’s advocacy of promoting the sustainable recovery and resilience of the Philippine micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector. Keynote remarks were delivered by Dr. Yuki Matsuoka on behalf of UNDRR.

In line with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, the E-HANDA Webinar aimed at raising awareness on the available programs and reference materials to help strengthen the business continuity and recovery strategies of MSMEs. This webinar is also part of the UP ISSI’s Honing Agents for National Disaster Awareness (HANDA) Program: Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Planning for MSMEs which has been reported in the UNDRR’s Sendai Framework Voluntary Commitments (SFVC) platform.

The webinar received 274 participants (144 via Zoom and 130 via Facebook Live). The recording of the webinar is available at the UP ISSI's Official Facebook Page (see associated links) for the benefit of the MSMEs who were not able to attend the session.
