Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania and Ethiopia have joined a new group of 20 developing countries that hope to press for tougher action to curb global warming, ahead of the UN climate talks in Paris this December, reports the East African. The group, dubbed Vulnerable 20 (V20), and formed by the members’ respective finance ministers says it represents countries that are at high risk of suffering the effects of climate change.

The V20 seeks to mobilise finances from public, private and international sources, as well as share and exchange best practices on climate actions, and foster new investment channels for climate resilient projects. It comes at a time when the African Development Bank has announced it will triple its annual climate financing to nearly $5 billion per year by 2020.
