Editorial: Flood prediction fraught with uncertainty

Chris de Freitas, associate professor in the School of Environment at the University of Auckland, argues that while 'vulnerability to flood loss is generated by human action', there are great challenges in preventing flood losses in a changing climate, asserting that 'decision makers in flood and drought risk assessment operate in a framework where climate is treated a stationary process'.
