This call for project proposals will support the implementation of the objective of the Fund to build and enhance tsunami, disaster and climate preparedness capacities for early warning for coastal hazards. The purpose of the Fund is to contribute to more resilient coastal communities, and ultimately to save lives and reduce loss and damage. The Fund prioritizes projects with a regional dimension.

Deadline:
20 January 2012 - Deadline extended to 25 January 2012

Organizations that can apply:
- Governments
- Intergovernmental organizations
- Non-governmental organizations (not for profit)

Geographic scope:
ESCAP Indian Ocean and Southeast Asian countries: Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor Leste and Viet Nam.

Maximum project duration: 24 months
