Feminine creativity in the face of natural disasters in Cuba

Gender expert Isabel Moya says women have special talents in terms of organising and empowering their communities during extreme events. Talking in an interview with IPS, she added, "The strengths of women have helped transform traditional practices and dynamics, in environmental protection and risk management." In Cuba's low lying cities climate change induced flooding is increasingly common, and women are finding their ways of adaptation and are sharing their knowledge in their communities.
