"We are targeting the involvement of ministers of government, civil society, non-government organisations, local/municipal government, community leaders, private sector, scientific community, donors and other stakeholders," Mosese Sikivou, the Deputy Director of the Disaster Reduction Programme at the Secretariat of the South Pacific Community told Fiji Times.
Mr Sikivou was speaking in connection with the announcement that Fiji will host the first meeting of the Pacific Platform for Disaster Risk Management and the Pacific Climate Change Round Table in July 2013. The meetings will center around the development of an integrated Pacific regional strategy for Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change and the outcomes will contribute to the development of the global Post-2015 Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
