Fiji: State with UN on climate change focused development

The state is now working with the United Nations to integrate climate change into the development plans, reports the Fiji Times. According to a Government statement Commissioner Western Manasa Tagicakibau opened a three-day workshop that will ensure an inclusive, coordinated and collaborative approach in all development planning procedures.

"We aim to enhance stakeholder's understanding on the key components of climate change and disaster risk management in the Pacific and their impact in the development and contribute to the stakeholder's knowledge on climate change and disaster risk management process as well as visa-a-vis development planning."
