Flood-proof mall designs a new priority for Thailand's largest retail developer

Central Pattana Plc will revise the structural designs of its future shopping complexes to reduce natural hazard disaster risk, reports the Bangkok Post. Naris Cheyklin, a senior executive vice-president of Thailand's biggest shopping centre developer, said flooding had convinced CPN to incorporate flood prevention in the designs of its new malls, "We've learned from this crisis. Complexes with underground areas are at risk. We'll revise the space usage plan to keep back the water and ensure safety."
