In a report by Haruna Kuyateh for Today, the people of the North Bank Region have been called upon to ensure that incidences of disasters are reduced in the region. This call came at the end of a two-day stakeholders’ training forum on disaster risk reduction and advocacy campaign. The forum had objectives to boost the knowledge of the participants on issues bordering on settlement planning, health hazards in disaster situations as well as preventing and mitigating disasters. The forum also saw extensive discussion on environmental management and environmental impact assessment.
