Sen Lam of Radio Australia interviewed Saroj Kumar Jha, programme manager for the UN-affiliated Global Facility for Disaster Reduction & Recovery on disaster, on preparedness for natural hazards and disaster risk reduction efforts worldwide, and in Chile and Bangladesh.
"The important lessons for the government is to invest in preparedness and prevention, to have the basic understanding of the where the risks are, have the awareness in terms of what action needs to be taken to prevent the impact of future catastrophes" said Jha.
