Global Competition for #YouthLed Projects: Flood & Drought Special

The Water Youth Network (WYN) in partnership with Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM) and Integrated Drought Management Programme (IDMP) joint programmes of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Global Water Partnership (GWP) have organized a competition for young people (below 35 years) and youth-led organizations that are currently working on any project and or have innovative solutions to flood and drought-related problems under the following themes:

  • Understanding risk
  • Early Warning System development
  • Risk management and planning

The best two projects will win an opportunity to collaborate with the WMO/GWP flood and drought programmes (APFM and IDMP) with direct support of up to 3,000 EUR. Also, one representative from each of the best two projects will get an opportunity to present their ideas at Youth Forum at the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction Conference in Cancun, Mexico on 22-26 May 2017.
