"Inaction in Rio would be disastrous, but a single international agreement would be a grave mistake," wrote Elinor Ostrom, a Nobel laureate in economics, who was the Chief Scientific Advisor to the Planet Under Pressure conference, on the pages of ABC.net.
Ostrom applauds the climate change adaptation initiatives of city leaders. She ads, "What we need are universal sustainable development goals on issues such as energy, food security, sanitation, urban planning, and poverty eradication, while reducing inequality within the planet's limits."
