As heatwaves are scorching and bushfires devastate parts of Australia, the Climate Commission, Australias climate change authority has released it's report: Off the charts: Extreme Australian summer heat, reports The Global Mail.

According to the report, there are four key messages from this heatwave:

1. There has never been a similarly hot, long and severe heatwave before in Australia

2. Due to climate change more and longer heatwaves and worsening bushfire conditions are to come.

3. Climate change has worsened the extreme heat conditions and bushfires.

4. Good community understanding of climate change risks is essential to ensure that appropriate action is taken to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to prepare for extreme weather events.
