High-level experts from Civil Protection groups in 14 Mediterranean countries are meeting today and tomorrow in Cairo as part of the Euro-Mediterranean Programme on Prevention, Preparedness and Response to Natural and Man-made Disasters (PPRD South) to increase knowledge of key concepts and principles of Disaster Risk Reduction and to enhance understanding of the scope of National Platforms.
The purpose of the programme is to increase institutional cooperation between the EU and Mediterranean counties to prevent the risk of disasters and to intervene efficiently.
