How climate change will brew a bad-tasting, expensive cup of coffee

Mauricio Galindo, head of operations at the intergovernmental International Coffee Organisation warned: 'Climate change is the biggest threat to the industry. If we don't prepare ourselves we are heading for a big disaster,' reports Damian Carrington in The Guardian. Climate change brings rising temperatures, extreme weather and increased pest infestation which will affect coffee production and thus livelihoods all over the world. The latest Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report on the global impacts of climate change, which is expected to be published on Monday expects that coffee production will decrease considerably by 2050.
