India: Corporation devising plans to make schools safe

Bringing out a list of 29 governments schools that are in urgent need of renovation works, the Education Standing Committee of the Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation has assigned a non-governmental organization with the responsibility of visiting the schools and designing new plans that would be safe for each school. IBNLive reports that a compilation of these safety plans was released by Thiruvananthapuram City Corporation Mayor K Chandrika on the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction observance.
