A top space official announced on Monday that Indian satellites will soon be able to alert state agencies and the general public about imminent disasters through television broadcasts 'direct-to home' (DRH).
"The advance alert will enable state agencies and the public to prepare for any natural calamity and minimize damage to life and property," said G. Madhavan Nair, Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation.
