According to Jakarta Globe, officials from Thailand, Pakistan and Iran were studying how Jakarta deals with its notorious flooding. The head of the city’s public works office, Ery Basworo, had told the representatives about the various mitigation undertaken or in the works. "They saw a program by National Geographic on efforts by the authorities here to reduce floods in Jakarta. They are interested in implementing it in their countries," said Tarjuki, the head of water resources management at the city’s public works office.
