Dewi Safitri from the BBC Indonesian Service takes a look at how Yogyakarta, despite being hit by landslides, floods and volcanic eruptions this year alone, is better coping with disasters.

In May the Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono was awarded the title 'Global Champion for Disaster Risk Reduction 2011' by the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.
