"Ideally, the development of Indonesia's disaster-risk reduction master plan would cost around Rp 15 trillion and this year, Rp 1 trillion has been allocated for the master plan but we are still waiting for approval from the House of Representatives," said National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) head Syamsul Maarif,as reported by The Jakarta Post.
Mr. Syamsul added that the tsunami master plan included four major components, strengthening the early-warning system; temporary-shelter development and improvement; enhancing capacity on disaster-risk reduction readiness; and developing independence in dealing with disasters.
