Insurers cough out N 19.5 trn to natural catastrophes in 10 years - a view from Nigeria

Favour Nnabugwu reports on the global insurance spend over the last ten years for natural hazard related disasters according to MunichRe, saying that Nigeria is like most of the world: 'excluding droughts, almost 90 per cent of damages relating to natural disasters are caused directly or indirectly by floods.' Nnabugwu further reports that Mr Ima Niboro, Special Adviser to the President on media and publicity, hinted that grants in Nigeria 'are to be expended on reconstruction of damaged roads, culverts and bridges...'.
