Jamaica: Landslide risk reduction project coming

Four communities in Jamaica will benefit from a new Jamaica Community-based Jamaica Landslide Risk Reduction Project according to the Jamaica Observer. Michelle Edwards, senior director of mitigation, planning at the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), declares: 'Landslide risk is an incredibly multidisciplinary problem, it's a social problem, it's a technical engineering problem, it's a water problem and a housing problem.'
