Kyodo News reports that Japan, China and South Korea are not letting their political disagreements get in the way of cooperation in the area of disaster management. The sentiment was expressed at a forum on the resilience of Northeast Asia during disasters as part of the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.

According to the article, trilateral cooperation is being promoted by a Seoul-based Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat, formed in September 2011 with the purpose of providing administrative and technical support for the three-way frameworks, such as trilateral foreign ministerial meetings.
