Preparing for the predicted massive earthquake in the Tokyo and Nankai region, the government of Japan announced that by 2016 all major train stations will be earthquake-proof, reports Jiji Press. Learning from the great earthquakes of 2011, the target is to make 100 percent of the major stations quake-resistant. The current program is the third five-year plan for infrastructure development of the Japanese government since 2003.
