Lebanon: Climate change - The elephant in the room

Lebanon faces multiple climate change related hazards. Assaad W. Razzouk, clean energy entrepreneur, investor and commentator lists sea level rise, severe droughts, water stress and crop yield degradation, the problem of climate refugees and the strains on human health in his opinion piece in the Daily Star.

Mr Razzouk's recommendations to help the country adapt to climate change include integrated urban water management, integrating reslilience into coastal city planning, and the development of long-term strategies for protecting cities from sea-level rise.
