Nepal: Farmers' adaptation to climate change

To combat climate change related problems that farmers face in the Nepali region, Dr Narahari P. Ghimire, senior agriculture dev. officer offers the following suggestions on the pages of The Himalayan Times:

"System for weather/climate data collection, forecasting and early warning system for climatic extremities should be developed while extreme climate based insect pest and disease forecasting system should be devised by the Department of Agriculture. Ministry of Agriculture Development should design national level activities to support the management and distribution of resources, extension services and information dissemination to the local level and training."
