An interview with Muhamad Sani-Sidi, head of the National Emergency Managment Agency (NEMA) who has been organizing workshops to sensitize and raise the awareness of the population to understand various forms of natural hazards across the country.

When asked if such workshops are a waste of money, Sani-Sidi replied:
"The paradigm shift globally is disaster risk reduction not response, so NEMA is not an exception. What we are trying to do is to make sure that we reduce the risk of disaster and prevent it and if we cannot prevent it we can prepare for the response effectively, in an efficient manner."
