Pakistan: Meteorological office to upgrade flood warning system

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has started modernising and strengthening their flood forecasting and warning services in line with the recommendations given in the Judicial Flood Commission (JFC) report, as per the International News. The project will be completed in two years and will enable the institutional capacity of Pakistan to predict floods as prior as 1 to 14 days by tracking weather and flood waves.
