Pakistan: Provincial disaster risk managment plan launched

The International News reports that at a recent event announcing the launch of the Provincial Disaster Risk Management Plan was launched by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), NDMA representative Shaukat Nawaz Tahir said that Sindh is the first province to launch a DRM plan, and would be followed by Punjab, Balochistan and Azad Kashmir. According to the report, Shaukat Nawaz Tahir remarked, 'We need to improve our capacity to minimise risks.'
