Talking to Margareta Wahistrom, the special representative of the UN secretary general for disaster risk reduction, Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani said the early warning system would help the government reduce loss of human lives, property and infrastructure to a great deal, as per Xinhua.
Ms. Margareta Wahistrom said that the UN would provide assistance in raising awareness, capacity building including human and financial assistance, provision of sustainability of livelihoods in the post disaster phase and rebuilding and rehabilitation.
