“I am glad that SEARCA (the Philippine government-hosted Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture) and the Department of Agriculture–Bureau of Agricultural Research have once again agreed to pursue our common objective of promoting sustainable agriculture in the midst of dire effects of climate change in the country,” SEARCA director Dr. Gil C. Saguiguit Jr. said at the ELCCA workshop. “SEARCA believes that the battle for climate change is won or lost in the grass roots level where localized interventions will play a big role.”
