Philippines: A million pledges for safer schools and hospitals

Anjo C. Alimario from the Business Mirror highlights the 'One Million Safe Schools and Hospitals (OMSSH) Campaign,' launch that took place in Manila, Philippines last week.

“I cannot overemphasize the importance of today’s event. I encourage everyone to participate in this campaign. You are well assured that our government, my department will be active champions of protecting our schools and hospitals,” Department of National Defence Secretary and National Disaster Coordinating Council Chairman Norberto Gonzales pledged during the launch last Thursday, as he addressed delegates from the academe, local departments, various organizations and participants from the Asean member-countries.
