Philippines: Oxfam-AusAID community project selects pilot villages

The Oxfam-AusAID 'Safer Communities Project' has selected 11 villages in North-eastern Mindanao, based on hazard maps, to be pilot communities as part of a disaster risk management project.

"The Participatory Capability Vulnerability Approach (PCVA) is to empower poor men and women to increase their resilience to disaster risk and climate change" said Carmen Amparito, Executive Director of the Surigao Economic Development Foundation (SEDF), a non-Governmental organization.
