In this Op-ed for Nikkei Weekly, Mika Shimizu and Allen Clark consider the term 'resilience' and its different acceptations in the light of the loss and devastation of the Great East Japan Earthquake, "these lessons related to resilience need to be learned to inject resilience-based approaches to disaster management into public policy, in preparation for future disasters in Japan and other parts of the world."
