Rutgers University, NJ, participated in the Hurricane Sandy Coastal Resiliency Competitive Grant Program and was awarded $1.17 million from the Department of the Interior. This grant will allow the university to help 54 towns in the Raritan River basin, NJ, to protect and efficiently use their ecosystems in order to mitigate floods, reports Greater Media Newspapers.
