Singapore no.1 priority: Making Stamford Canal less flood prone

AsiaOne announces that an inter-agency panel will be formed to review anti-flood mechanisms in flood-prone areas, especially in Stamford Canal, which has been given top priority after the June 16 overflow. The panel will set up measures to improve the drainage system, using sensors to detect the water level and an SMS-alert system.
