Singapore's LEC-Asia has been made a subsidiary of Hitachi Plant Technologies to accelerate the global development of disaster risk reduction business

As reported by the Wall Street Journal Digital Network, the new company will undertake the role of global base for design, sales, implementation and consulting services of disaster related risk reduction solution, in the areas of lightning protection, earthquake and weather related solution, as well as fire and flooding.

The move is expected to expand the company as a global base for other disaster related risk reduction business, by adding new products to the line up, such as facility monitoring systems using wireless sensor networks, seismic simulation systems, etc.
