According to The Nation, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) has revealed plans to dredge waterways so as to prevent flooding in the near future, while the Strategic Committee for Water Resources Management (SCWRM) has begun its flood prevention plan by releasing millions of cubic metres of water out of two dams, which would store water at the end of the drought season to support the rainy season.

The plan also includes water-retention areas building, canal dredging, prevention of rain-triggered flooding and improvement of efficiency in water draining. "The Thai public is eager to see concrete flood prevention measures being implemented, regardless of politics or conflict of interest," reports The Nation.
