Thailand: 'City, national govt must work together on flood prevention' - Experts

A devastating flood like that of 2011 could hit Bangkok again, due to climate change induced extreme weather events, according to experts. They urge the governor to collaborate with the national government to increase the area's disaster resilience, reports the Nation.

"No more blame game," Professor Dr Thanawat Jarupongsakul, head of Chulalongkorn University's Unit for Disaster and Land Information Studies, said. "The [next] Bangkok governor and the government should work together to solve the problem and cope with flood situations."
