Port cities are particularly vulnerable to climate change related disasters such as storm surges, rising sea levels and development plans can be critical in risk management, writes Eric Roston on Bloomberg.com. Quoting an ongoing study by Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development he states that $3 trillion of assets are at risk today, and this sum may reach $35 trillion by 2070. The article lists the 20 most vulnerable cities, ranking them by the value of assets at risk. The list includes cities from the USA, China, India, Japan, Thailand, Viet Nam and the Netherlands.
