The Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) of Trinidad and Tobago launched its Health, Safety and Disaster Preparedness Week 2012 on September 4, according to the Trinidad and Tobago Newsday. The week's theme, “Influencing a positive health and safety culture within the DNA of the ERHA”, was used to extend the authority’s “commitment to provide a safe and healthy work environment for the protection of all users and stakeholders.”

Included in the week's programme was an overview of the management system and strategies implemented by the Authority to achieve ministerial objectives for occupational safety and health along with disaster preparedness. Also included were speeches on promoting a positive safety and health culture, and risk reduction strategies for the health care sector for disaster preparedness.
