US: UC Berkeley professor builds $100 earthquake early warning system

Cheap earthquake detectors could become a household items in the near future if the detector that was built by Joshua Bloom, professor at UC Berkeley receives the necessary funding and it becomes available for everyday use. The device uses a software called Shake Alert, which was developed by scientists at the Berkeley Seismology Lab and it gives 10 seconds of warning.
