USA: Local county officials work on hazard mitigation plan

Various officials including mayors, law enforcement officials, fire protection officials and Franklin County Emergency Management Agency personnel met last week to continue with the development of a hazard mitigation plan.

"we will be creating a plan for Franklin County to mitigate disasters." said Nicholas Pinter, a geology professor from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, “the potential hazards threatening your county will be added to the GIS maps to determine what would occur during a natural disaster.”
