The Secretariat of the UN International Strategy For Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) will hold a workshop "Towards the mid term review and progress monitoring of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) and preparation of Global Assessment Report (GAR) 2011" on Monday and Tuesday 11 and 12 January 2010 in Bahrain.
This workshop is organised by ISDR in collaboration with the UN Resident Coordinator Office in Bahrain and sponsored by the Kingdom of Bahrain. The workshop will provide an opportunity to reflect on the learning’s from 2007-09 GAR and HFA progress review; focus on carving out a forward looking plan for the next biennium review and reporting process and kick off the discussion on the design of the Mid Term Review (MTR) of the HFA as well as identify roles and responsibilities of regional organizations in the MTR process.
