India: Central team to visit Kerala to assess disaster management

An inter-ministerial official delegation from the Centre will be on an inspection visit to Kerala on Thursday to verify the disaster-prone areas in the state as a prelude to the allocation of funds for disaster management, reports the Times of India. "The team will assess the disaster-prone areas in Kerala and suggest further measures for action on disaster risk reduction," said Disaster Management Department principal secretary Nivedita P Haran.
