"Compared to the size of Mizoram, outbreak of jungle fire is very high. We should be more careful and remain alert to prevent fire this year as Mizoram is currently experiencing a dry season for long time", warned chief minister Lal Thanhawla at a meeting where he called for the cooperation of the locals in preventing wildfires.
As Imphal Free Press reports, the ever so common wildfires in the Mizoram area destroy forest resources and pose dangers to the villages located close to the forests.
