Call for paper: Local level risk assessment for disaster and climate change risk reduction
The Pujiono Centre for Disaster and Climate Risk Reduction Studies organizes a workshop entitled: "Local Participatory Risk Assessment: Linking Knowledge to Practice" as a side event of the 5th Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, scheduled to be held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia from 22 to 25 October 2012. The proposed workshop is meant to produce substantive recommendations for outputs of the ministerial conference.
This workshop is an opportunity for NGOs and government stakeholders in Asia to share experiences, have the methodological debates, and jointly formulate substantive recommendations to improve the evidence-based risk assessment. Prominent speakers from Bangladesh, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Viet Nam, and Indonesia are expected to deliberate their views.
In preparation of the Workshop the Pujiono Centre intends to publish background papers that will provide the background and substantive content to the debates.
You are hereby invited to submit papers to be included in the pre and post Workshop publication.
Please send an abstract between 200 to 300 words abstract/summary (about half page, Arial 12, single space) to the [email protected] and Cc to [email protected] by 6 September 2012 at the latest.
If the panel of readers approves your abstract, the Pujiono Centre will notify you to submit the complete manuscript and, as appropriate, pictures by 11 September 2012.
