US: FEMA awards $5.6 million to Louisiana for flood and wind damage protection

More than $5.6 million in federal funding was recently awarded to the state of Louisiana to fund wind damage and flood protection measures in Jefferson and Terrebonne parishes, report Fox News.

The funding for these projects originates from the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant programs which provides funds for hazard mitigation planning and projects that reduce disaster losses and protect life and property from future damages.
