Vinhedo Civil Defense begins Operation Drought 2021

Action takes place between May 1st and September 30th to prevent fires and occurrences related to low humidity

The Municipal System of Civil Protection and Defense (Simpdec) of Vinhedo carries out Operation Drought 2021 between May 1st and September 30th of this year, together with Operation Fire Protection of the state government, for the prevention of fires and other related events low air humidity. The Prevention Plan for Civil Defense and Protection of Operation Drought 2021 is based on the technical mapping of risk areas.

During the dry season, green areas of the municipality and urban land with vegetation are considered at risk, which will have priority of observation; monitoring and coping with possible adversities. The epidemiological bulletins of the Secretariat of Health will also be used for decision-making by the Simpdec Disaster Alert Network.

The Municipal Committee for Risk Management and Disaster Management and the Integrated Information and Monitoring System for Vineyard Disasters will act as the Crisis Management Office, to organize the necessary actions to combat and reduce damage in eventual occurrences.

The committee is composed of different municipal departments to carry out coordinated actions. The group includes the departments of Transport and Social Defense, Government, Legal Affairs, Works, Services, Social Assistance, Education, Environment and Urbanism, Health, Finance and Sanebavi. The Fire Department is also part of the group, respecting their legal functions.

The Preventive Plan is based on four pillars: understanding, strengthening management and investing in disaster risk reduction for resilience, and increasing disaster preparedness, with the aim of providing an effective recovery, rehabilitation and reconstruction response .

Preventive actions include monitoring properties that have been banned in the past four years, public areas, public and private assets, areas of environmental, cultural and historical protection subject to fire, areas of environmental protection, nature reserves, forest fragments and forests and urban plots with coverage vegetable.
